LA PAZ – UYUNI SALT LAKE – SAN JUAN –
LAGOONS – UYUNI – LA PAZ (SIC).
6 DAYS/ 5 NIGHTS
DAY 1
La Paz - Uyuni Pick up from hotel to be transfer
to the bus station of La Paz, bus ride (regular bus) to Oruro for
about 3 hours; continuation by train to the town of Uyuni, arrival
late at night, Transfer to a hotel and overnight.
DAY 2
After breakfast pick up passengers from hotel in
order (4x4 vehicle) to visit the great Salt Lake of Uyuni the biggest
salt extension in the world (10.000 km2). On the way we stop several
time to enjoy the view and take snap shots of the place.
Arrival to Isla Pescado (Fish Island) this singular island is famous
for its gigantic cactus, here we enjoy lunch.
Continue the journey heading towards the villages of San Juan, where
we will staying for overnight in a local lodge with private facilities
and basic sanitary services.
DAY 3
After breakfast you will go to the “Laguna
Colorada (Red Lagoon) crossing on the way the Siloli desert where
this interesting tree-shaped rock is located, we may also be able
to see some Vicuñas, Vizcacha (a rabbit like a squirrel)
and perhaps the Andean Fox. Laguna Colorada is classified as high
Andean water, counting with borax islands in its north-eastern and
south-eastern section, the red color is due to the fine red sediments
on the surface, as well as the pigmentation of certain types of
algae. This lagoon is populated by three species of flamingos (Among
them the famous James), making it one of the few places on the earth
where these are found together, sharing nesting places. At this
point we are already in the Eduardo Avaroa National Park Fauna Reserve,
once there you will stay in its Lodge (very simple accommodations
and basic sanitary services).
DAY 4
The trip continues toward the south, to the place called Sol de
Mañana or Morning Sun where you can see geysers and volcanic
holes which take you back to the origins of the formation of earth.
The final point of the descent is the “Laguna Verde”
Green Lagoon, an awesome water mirror resembling a giant emerald
with a singular shine in the afternoon, its color is caused by the
high magnesium content in the water. Next to this lagoon lies the
Licancabur volcano (5.868mts). We return to Laguna Colorada in order
to continue to Alota where you will be staying for overnight in
simple facilities.
DAY 5
After breakfast, return to Uyuni city, visiting
on the way “Pampa Colorada” (Red Flat) and the train
cemetery plus a brief tour of the city. We use the hotel to rest
and to wait for the train to return to Oruro (late at night).
DAY 6
Arrival to Oruro in the morning, transfer to a local
restaurant to have breakfast and afterwards to the bus station to
continue to La Paz . Arrival to La Paz, transfer to the hotel.

simple lodging during the trip of the Lagoons bilingual guide, private
transportation in Uyuni, full board meals up during the trip of
the Lagoons (1 breakfast in Oruro, bus ticket, train ticket and
official transportation’s taxes.

Tips and entrance fees to the Eduardo Avaroa National
Park.
